While each of the members of the Lemonade team has a long history of success in the arts

individually, this is a first-time initiative for them as a collective.

 

A BRIEF HISTORY

Janet and David first approached (writer) Grosch to turn their book, Lemonade for the Lawnboy, into a musical in 2007, and Hey stepped in as an advisor in 2009. In 2012 Grosch invited Kennedy and Weismann to come on board, and Curley joined the group later that same year. With the team in place, workshops were held in 2012 and 2014, with a full production mounted in Minnetonka, MN in June of 2015. The show has since been reworked for its 2016 remount in Hastings.

 

Throughout the process, the group has been inspired by this story of two broken people who, despite age and cultural differences, helped one another heal, and then went out into the world and touched the lives of so many. That is the both the message of the show, and has been the process of the show, and we are eager to share it with an ever increasing audience.
